Laptop Security & Backups
Following the news that a computer and iPad were stolen from MP Keith Vaz’s Westminster office, Akita would like to remind users that, as a bare minimum, notebooks should be properly password protected.
More importantly, data stored should be included in your company’s backup strategy and not just stored on c: drives and simply backed up to usb sticks. Ensuring that your data and emails are backed up means that, should notebook suffer from hardware failure (or theft), your data can be easily retrieved and you can save yourself the headaches and inconvenience of lost documents, email messages, contacts, etc.
If you are in any doubt about computer security and integrity of your data, contact us to discuss this.
